Patient referral and consultation
As a core facility for the diabetes care collaboration in the second Toyono medical region, our hospital accepts patient referrals from a wide range of facilities. Our division provides inpatient care of various durations, ranging from 4 to 13 days, for diabetes and obesity education, blood glucose control, or detailed evaluation for complications (for details, see here).
In addition, our division supports diabetes education through team efforts including instruction on diet by registered dietitians, diabetes self-management by certified diabetes educators or specialized nurses, medications by pharmacists, as well as counseling by clinical psychologists. The division offers screening for complications such as coronary artery diseases, cerebral vascular disease and arteriosclerosis obliterans for early detection and treatment of diseases caused by arteriosclerosis that are often observed in patients with diabetes.
