Department of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery

Overview

Outline of the Department of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery

At the Department of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, we provide surgical treatment to patients with congenital heart diseases and pediatric cardiovascular diseases. We are capable of performing all surgical procedures necessary for the treatment of congenital heart diseases in patients of all ages, from newborns to adults, including those experiencing late postoperative changes. Specifically, in the area of complex congenital heart diseases, we have performed surgery using heart-lung machines on approximately 9,800 patients and operated over 1,200 neonatal patients since the establishment of the department in 1978. We work with the Department of Pediatric Cardiology as one team since the opening of the NCVC in a system that allows medical response 24 hours a day throughout the year.
