Clinical Genetic Counseling Room

Overview

Outline of the Clinical Genetic Counseling Room

The Clinical Genetic Counseling Room provides genetic counseling on an outpatient basis, including counseling regarding prenatal genetic testing at the NIPT Outpatient Clinic, in collaboration with the NCVC Hospital's specialized departments, including the Departments of Cardiovascular Internal Medicine and Neurology, Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Perinatology and Gynecology.
Specifically, our specialists (physicians specializing in clinical genetics), working primarily with accredited genetic counselors, discuss with patients and/or their families the concerns regarding their hereditary issues and provide relevant information based on genetics and clinical genetic medicine with the aim to find optimal solutions.
At the Clinical Genetic Counseling Room, we also work with various NCVC departments and external medical institutions to coordinate and support medical care. For example, we are involved in the outpatient care for intractable connective tissue diseases, such as hereditary diseases affecting the aorta.
