臨床病理科
研究活動の概要

病理部門は、循環器疾患の診療に必要な組織病理診断情報を臨床に提供するために、病理解剖と外科手術検体や心筋などの生検材料の病理組織診断を主要な業務としている。
これらの検体を活用した広い分野にわたる臨床研究を他科と協力して行っており、循環器系および病理系、一部呼吸器系の学会および学術誌に発表している。
病理解剖は今日、世界的にその数は著明に減少している。NCVCにおいても剖検数は10数年前と比べると激減してきた。2018年は剖検率が19％と少ないながらも、その件数は全国では常に10位以内に入っている。組織診断件数は数年前から増加傾向にあり、特に心筋生検の数は年間700件を超え非常に増加している。また、心・血管を専門とする病理部門は全国的に少なく、この特殊性を生かすため、これまで随時全国の医療機関から循環器系疾患の病理診断のコンサルテーションを受け入れてきた。外部施設からの病理検体の作製依頼および診断の有料のコンサルテーションの受け入れ体制を整え、ホームページに公開し、現在約30施設と契約している。病理解剖に関しては近隣施設からの病理解剖を受け入れるようにした。

研究については病理部門のスタッフの専門性を生かしつつ、他科のスタッフやレジデントと共同研究を行っている。
また、他科のレジデントの学術発表や論文の指導も行っている。教育面では実際の病理標本の心臓を用いた講習会をレジデントやコメディカル向けに開いている。定期的な心筋生検や病理解剖のカンファレンスでは、レジデントや他科のスタッフとのディスカッションが活発に行われている。またダイバーシティの一環として、2018年にはアジアの台湾、インドネシアから短期の病理研修生を受け入れ、指導を行った。

その他、NCVCバイオバンク保存のため病理部門はバイオバンクに協力し、病理解剖、 周産期検体、 移植摘出心などの組織収集保存しており、病理部門がバイオバンク検体の収集に携わっている。2015年10月1日から施行された医療事故調査制度にも、日本病理学会を通じて3回以上参加している。
