Chief Physician of Coronary Disease, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine

Employment Details

The primary functions of the chief physician will be to treat patients in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, CCU, and Emergency Department, and to train residents. The broad areas of focus will include ischemic heart disease, vascular disease, and emergency cardiovascular medicine. Patients will have a variety of diseases including angina pectoris, myocardial infarctions, ischemic cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and atherosclerotic disease. The chief physician will be expected to provide first-class treatment for patients suffering from the abovementioned diseases, and to actively develop and implement new treatments as appropriate. The chief physician will also be required to train young physicians and communicate research results (including intervention studies). All candidates must have graduated from a medical school at least 10 years ago, and have a proven track record of practical or basic clinical research experience (equivalent to Doctor of Medical Science).

Employment Start Date (term of office)

April 1, 2019 (negotiations possible)
Term of office is five (5) years from start date (renewals possible based on performance)
