Pediatric Cardiology

Donald McDonald House Charities Japan

In the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, we are mainly engaged in diagnosis and treatment for patients with congenital heart diseases, who were born with abnormalities in their hearts. We cover a wide range of clinical cases, including arrhythmia which is sometimes discovered through medical check-ups at school, pulmonary hypertension, coronary artery sequelae of Kawasaki disease, myocardial disease, and chronic heart failure. We also take care of patients in a wide range of age groups, from newborn babies to infants, school children, and adults.
Our outpatient pediatric cardiology clinic is open from Monday through Friday (Tuesdays and Thursdays for new patients with appointments). Other outpatient services include cardiac catheterization clinic, pulmonology clinic, arrhythmia clinic, adult congenital heart disease clinic, Fontan operation clinic, Kawasaki disease clinic, and myocardial disease clinic. Physicians who are acquainted with each disease provide outpatient medical care that meet the needs of individual patients. There are three wards for treatment and examination. Patients are admitted to a specific ward according to their age: Infant Ward (4F West), Pediatric Ward (5F East), and Adult Ward (5F West).
